Curb Appeal
Begin with the outside of your home, better known as your curb appeal. Inspect the outside of your house from a street perspective. What jumps out at you? What positive characteristics seem waiting to be noticed?
Acknowledging this helps us to choose what plan of action we can use to attract buyers from the street and into your home. If your house isn't attractive on the outside with retouched paint and blooming garden plants we'll need to address those as well. Follow the Curb Appeal Checklist and add dollars to your home's final selling price.

Make yourself at home...
Can buyers picture themselves lounging in your living room, unwinding in your spa tub or studying in your home office? I want your home to welcome buyers and offer them a sense of ease. I'll help you achieve this by suggesting small improvements that highlight the features of your home.
I'll help you put in storage pieces that give the appearance of clutter. Surface areas like tables, desks and counters should be free and clear. Arts and crafts, sentimental items, family photos, and refrigerator drawings should get moved out of sight. I can help you simplify the decor of house. Disheveled or messy spaces make your home look unkempt and buyers have a harder time picturing themselves living there.
I'll look over each room of your home. I'll note the pieces of furniture that should be rearranged, rooms that need new paint, carpet needing to get changed, fixtures that could use brightening, and any other improvement that can inexpensively be made to positively affect the sale.
I'll ensure your home has mass appeal and that it's friendly, steering clear of "offensive" or "too-bright" colors on the walls and furniture. And if you've already moved out, you can think about borrowing furnishings. You want your home to look inviting as opposed to bare.

Setting the Stage
You'll know when for the Open House, because all of the improvements mesh together to paint a picture of what buyers will expect after they choose to buy your house.
Dark living areas can really dampen a buyer's spirits, so we'll do things like draw back curtains and reduce shadows where needed to show off your home. Together we'll enhance the air of the house with enjoyable music to listen to while guests tour your home and make sure a delightful scent circulates room-to-room. We'll add cozy-looking throws, and place pillows on your sofa and bed. We want buyers to feel like your house has the potential to be. |
